
The 1.014 billion peso Province-wide Investment Plan for Health (PIPH) proposal of the leader of Aklan, Governor Carlito S. Marquez, will now be implemented in the province as the Department of Health (DOH) and the different funding agencies recently gave their approval.
International funding partners of the Department of Health, including the European Union, will provide a support of P672.7 million. The Aklan provincial government will finance P182.5 million, and the local government units with P108.90 million. In addition, the national government, through the DOH will provide P80.6 million.
The Province-wide Investment Plan for Health program will allocate P241.9 million for this year, P403.2 million for year 2010, P186.3 million for 2011, P124.20 million for 2012, and P89 million for year 2013.
The upgrading of rural, municipal, and provincial hospitals will be allotted P423.5million, while the acquisition of equipments and machines will be assigned P234.8 million, and the public health programs of the province P222.2 million.
The provincial government of Aklan hopes to achieve 100 percent newborn breastfeeding and immunization of children, as well as the creation of more Botika sa Barangay with the PIPH program.
