Aklan Celebrates Indigenous People’s Month
The Provincial Government of Aklan through the Aklan Provincial Tourism Office (APTO) currently spearheads the celebration of Aklan Indigenous People’s Month 2017 come October 27-29, 2017 with various highlight activities that will showcase traditional cuisines, rituals, musical performances, traditional dances, and other cultural aspects inherent to indigenous people in the province.
Recognizing these people as an important part of the society and their crucial role in the conservation of the locality’s biological diversity, these different activities are intended to highlight the significance of the event, namely,

9:00 AM – Opening Program at CityMall Kalibo
1:00 PM – Indigenous People’s Forum at Nenette’s Garden
October 27 – 29, 2017
11:00 AM – Indigenous Product Exhibit at the Provincial Capitol Lobby
October 28, 2017
Familiarization Tour to be participated in by indigenous people of Aklan particularly the municipalities of Malay, Nabas, Madalag, Libacao and Tangalan, social worker personnel and tourism officers from the 17 LGUs.
