Staff of Ciriaco Tirol Hospital – Boracay undergone 2-day orientation to discuss HIV treatment guidelines and hospital protocols once the facility will be an official satellite treatment of DRSTMH for HIV and AIDS. Being a satellite treatment facility, medicines such as anti-retrovirals (ARV) will become readily available in the island. ARVs help in reducing the virus present in people living with HIV and prevent HIV related deaths. ARVs are being given by DOH for free.
The 2-day activity was facilitated by Dr. Leilanie Barrios, Head of DRSTMH – HIV AIDS Clinic.
