The Aklan Provincial Government through the Aklan Provincial Tourism Office partnered with the Aklan Culture and Arts Foundation, Inc. to start the Christmas celebration. PASKWAHAN SA KAPITOLYO ushers in the season on December 16, 2019 at the Goding Ramos Park.

Activities include:
1:30 PM – Christmas Costume Contest for Kids
4:00 PM – Opening of Paskwahan Sa Kapitolyo and “Kaon Ta” Food Court
6:00 PM – Ceremonial Lighting of Christmas Tree and Lights and
Provincial Government Employees Choral Competition

Aklan through the Tumandok It Akean Performing Arts shall also present PAGDUNGAW, A GLIMPSE OF THE PAST Gala Show come December 19, 2019, 6:00 PM at the ABL Sports and Cultural Complex. The three-part presentation will feature (1) a dance drama based on “Legend of Aklan” about the mythical creature “Panigutlo”, a favored beast, (2) a dance and song presentation of Aklanon folk songs and dances portraying certain Aklanon traits such as hospitality, patience and fortitude, (3) a showcase of Aklan’s various festivals depicting it’s rich cultural heritage and traditions, and diverse and unique indigenous products.

There will also be a “SARI LIKHA AND LEZO POTTERY EXHIBIT” from November 11, 2019 to December 15, 2019 held at the Aklan Provincal Capitol Main Building Lobby. Taking pride in the unique talent and skills of Aklanons in the field of art, the month-long exhibit aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and tradition of Aklanons featuring the fabric or textile painting work of our very own Mario A. Perucho and that of Lezo’s pride, the municipality’s pottery industry.
